Ferguson
The downfall of this country is never respecting what is right. Instead they choose to cover up the wrong with a bunch of loopholes to make it sound like the country is doing its best to keep order and maintain the control of the people, instead of keeping order and control over the police, the real villains. While many people can agree that not all police are bad, it’s in everyones best interest to label them the way they have labeled black people and profiled them all their lives. I don’t see anything wrong with that except I also hate when people generalize a group of people for the actions of a few or one for that matter and we were all born and taught to do that. I guess life will always be confusing, we learn from the people around us from the day we’re born, parents, teachers, and what did they learn from? It’s all just outdated thoughts that are crammed into our innocent minds as children. Then growing up becomes confusing. Why do we hate those people we’re told to hate? We have to learn for ourselves as we get older– we’re put through challenges that break barriers between families and even beyond that, maybe that’s why everyone is so fucked up? I think the real meaning of life is to co-exist, but everyone has been branded already.
Power is addicting (See: Stanford Prison Experiment) and there are many who choose to abuse it. Police are given a gun and a badge and then told to go play outside. We’re human beings, you can’t just be trained to potentially kill someone and be okay with that, right? It’s like being assigned to population control. That’s the other problem, is just access to weapons in general and the violence that thrives from it.
When will the people of the United States have the power and freedom we were promised? Fear is such a dynamic innate emotion that it’s the first thing we experience coming into this world. I feel like fear became the lottery ticket for people who crave power and status and money is power, hence the media and politicians. They, the government and media, know that opinions can form within seconds and they choose to manipulate us with these mind-control tactics that we aren’t even aware of (TV, print, social media). They thrive from our curiosity.
Education isn’t what I once thought it was, at least in our earliest years, the years that matter. We’re all victims of intellectual robbery, and guess whose to blame. What we learned in history class in 5th grade, telling us why our country is number one, standing up and saluting a flag, reciting American witchcraft… Why do you think we stop doing that as we get older— right, because we start forming our own minds, at least most of us. But for the other flag-waving partisans the idea of America sticks with them, because that’s just how the science of learning goes.
I knew that the Grand Jury Decision was going to be in favor of Wilson as soon as McCullough opened his mouth and wanted to “first and foremost” apologize to the Brown family for their loss… A long speech meant they needed to keep telling America WHY the decision that THEY made was the right one, and the longer he spoke the more he was just covering their asses. We ALL knew what the right decision was this whole time. AMERICA IS NOT WHAT IT SAID IT WOULD BE, they just pretend to be and they would protect one man over millions of voices. Are we not loud enough America?
R.I.P Michael Brown, you started a movement.
